Captain Ed Folsom has been a pilot for United Airlines since 1989, currently as a Los Angeles-based Boeing 767 Captain. Ed is the Chairman of the UAL MEC Security Committee, as well as Chairman of the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA) Security Council, representing the interests of 40 airlines and 60,000 pilots.
Before joining United Airlines, Ed spent 10 years on active duty in the Air Force, flying A-10 Warthogs and OV-10 Broncos. He also flew MH-60G Pavehawks in the California Air National Guard. Ed graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1980, and retired at the rank of Lt. Colonel after a total of 22 years of service.
Ed lives in San Diego with his wife and three children.
